I found another great resource! It’s called Foster2Forever, and it is loaded with all kinds of tips, instruction, and wonderful things.

A recent article, 27 Encouraging Words You Can Say to Your Child is a great list, and you can adapt it to older children, too.

As parents and grandparents, we need to say the things that will build up our children. The world has enough bad to say about them, and they can hear it all the time from a variety of sources. Let them know that you believe in them, and that you see them as capable of GREAT THINGS! -Nealie

  1. Hi Nealie,

A Phrase my mother used, “That is not being done in the best families.” and another–
“You weren’t standing behind the door when God passed out the brains.” Not especially encouraging but a gentle reprimand.
