Paying for the Glasses

glassesThis picture is of a pair of my glasses. I would have had a picture of one of Lilly’s past dozen or so specks -if they were still in existence. None are still around.

Lilly destroyed every pair in short order, and often with a flourish.

We had to figure out a way to give consequences, but when you are a  little kid with no job, that can be difficult. Parenting with Love and Logic taught us that a child could indeed pay for damages -with toys.

Our local eye doctor’s office ended up filled with a collection of Lilly’s toys as “payment” for glasses. (At least she thought it was payment. Money transactions took place behind the scenes.)

We are grateful to Love and Logic’s advice, and to the wonderful, cooperating office staff. 😯  -Nealie
